When should I involve Chaffey Custom Homes in the planning process?
As early as possible. Our clients often bring us in during initial concept discussions or before architectural drawings are finalized. Early involvement helps ensure the design aligns with your budget, site conditions are properly evaluated, and potential challenges are identified before they impact cost or schedule.
Can Chaffey Custom Homes help evaluate a homesite before I purchase or begin building?
Yes. We routinely assist clients by reviewing land for feasibility, access, utilities, drainage, slope, environmental requirements, and design potential. Early site evaluation ensures your investment begins on solid ground and reduces risk later.
How involved will I be in the design and selection process?
You can be as involved as you wish. Many clients enjoy collaborating with our team, their architect, and interior designer to personalize every aspect of the home. We guide you through each selection milestone and coordinate all details so decisions are made smoothly and on schedule.
How do you handle budgeting, allowances, and cost updates?
We create an initial comprehensive budget and outline clear allowances for items such as cabinetry, appliances, and finish materials. As your selections are finalized, allowances convert into fixed numbers and you receive updated reports so the financials stay fully transparent from start to finish.
How does Chaffey ensure quality craftsmanship during construction?
Quality is our core focus. We partner with highly skilled subcontractors, maintain a clean, organized jobsite, and conduct ongoing inspections throughout the build. Our team oversees every phase, ensuring workmanship meets the high standards synonymous with the Chaffey name.
What type of warranty do you provide?
We stand behind every home we build. Our custom homes include clearly defined warranties for workmanship, systems, and structural components. You’ll receive a detailed warranty document outlining coverage and the process for requesting service after move-in.
What if I want to make changes once construction has started?
Changes are welcome, and we will document everything to avoid schedule or cost surprises. We use a clear written change order process that outlines the scope, pricing, and timeline impact so you can make informed decisions.
How will I receive updates during the construction of my home?
We provide consistent communication through progress reports, onsite walkthroughs, schedule updates, and regular check-ins. Our goal is to give you confidence and visibility throughout the entire building experience.
Will Chaffey work with my architect and interior designer?
Absolutely. Collaboration is at the heart of our building process. We work seamlessly with architects, designers, engineers, and consultants to ensure your vision is executed with precision and attention to detail.
Do you offer energy-efficient or sustainable building options?
Yes. We regularly incorporate high-performance systems, advanced insulation, premium windows, smart-home technology, and environmentally responsible materials. We can tailor the home to your goals for efficiency, comfort, and long-term sustainability.
What should I expect during the permitting process?
Permitting can be complex depending on jurisdiction and site characteristics. Our team manages this process on your behalf, coordinating all required documentation, engineering, and municipal approvals to keep the project moving efficiently.
What happens after my home is complete?
You’ll participate in a detailed final walkthrough and receive a full homeowner orientation. We provide manuals, warranties, and maintenance guidance, and we remain available for any questions as you settle into your new home.
