Experienced Custom Home Builders

For more than 60 years, the Chaffey Family has been part of home building in the Pacific Northwest. What began with Herb Chaffey building homes in 1963 has grown through three generations, but the principles behind the work have remained much the same: build with care, stand behind your work, & treat people well.

Rick Chaffey grew up in the business, although not behind a desk. He started working in the field at sixteen, digging ditches, sweeping unfinished homes & learning firsthand what it takes to build something well. He went on to become President of Chaffey Corporation & later co-founded Chaffey Homes, helping build communities throughout the region & further establishing the Chaffey name as one known for quality, thoughtful design & craftsmanship.

In 2011, Rick returned the focus of the business to a more personal kind of building with Chaffey Custom Homes. Today, we specialize in custom homes & significant remodels throughout the Puget Sound area, bringing decades of experience to projects that are anything but one-size-fits-all.

We believe a great home starts with understanding the people who will live there. Every project is approached as a collaboration, with careful attention to the way our clients live, what matters to them & what they want their home to feel like. From the first conversation through the final details, our team is guided by transparency, honest communication, and thoughtful problem-solving, so we can deliver the highest level of craftsmanship we’re proud to put the Chaffey name behind.

Our company has changed considerably since the first Chaffey home was built more than six decades ago, but our approach has not. We build homes designed to be lived in, loved, and lasting and we believe the experience of building one should feel every bit as intentional as the home itself.
